Things about Praha

Žižkov Television Tower

 Žižkov Television Tower at night

The Žižkov Television Tower is one of the most imposing buildings in Prague. With its 216 meters high, it's almost impossible not to notice it. It was constructed between 1985 and 1992 in the top of the hill of the city's district with the same name of the tower.

This building is an image of the Russian's communist domination of Czech Republic. Because of this reason, most of the population of Prague resents this building and considers it remembering of oppression times. Prague inhabitants also think that this building destroys the skyline of this classical city.

With the objective of improving the image of this building, some David Černý's sculptures of crawling babies were attached to the tower. This gives a more human aura to the tower and attracts more tourism.

Nevertheless, the view of this building shouldn't be discarded. The tower provides a unique experience of sightseeing to the city of Prague.
